The draft masterplan provides an indicative layout for the Prince William of Gloucester Barracks site and highlights the layout and location of key elements, such as schools, open spaces and the village hub, key access points and road layouts.
All of the feedback received in relation to the masterplan will be carefully considered and used to help us develop our proposals further. Once complete, the masterplan will be incorporated into an outline planning application to take the redevelopment forward and help meet our aspirations for the future of the site.
From the consultation feedback so far we understand there is a lot of interest in the tree plantation on site and how it might be affected by the redevelopment proposals. Whilst a number of the smaller trees within the extensive plantation area on the airfield will need to be removed to accommodate the proposals, other areas of woodland and biodiverse habitats will be created as part of the development. These new habitats will be more valuable to native species and will benefit the natural environment. We are keen to work with all stakeholders to make this a community with woodland and open space at its heart and are seeking their views as part of the ongoing consultation. You can find more information on our approach to trees here.

The consultation period has now closed. If you have a specific query or question you can:
We will carefully consider any suggestions, comments or concerns that have been raised and use them to shape the proposals where appropriate.
Following the public consultation, we will provide an update summarising the feedback we receive and how it has been used to shape the proposals.
We intend to submit an outline planning application to South Kesteven District Council later in 2021.
